Custom machinery.
Device development.
Mechanical design, working prototypes and application-specific equipment for manufacturers, R&D teams and hardware startups.
Start with a new machine, a device to develop or a design ready for manufacture. Let’s define the design, prototype and manufacturing scope around your project.
What stage is your project at?
Device development.
Start with an engineering task, a working prototype or a manufacturing project. The proposal defines the engineering work, deliverables and manufacturing responsibilities.

Requirement. Design.
Build. Handover.
Agree the function, engineering stages and acceptance checks before manufacture.
The proposal defines development stages, review points, functional checks and delivery responsibilities. Fabrication, controls and other specialist work are coordinated through project-specific partners.
What to include in your brief- 01
Define the requirement
Intended function, current project stage, constraints and the criteria for a successful handover.
- 02
Review the design
Concept, mechanical layout and manufacturing choices, with agreed reviews before fabrication.
- 03
Build and integrate
Project-specific suppliers, purchased components, assembly and the agreed specialist interfaces.
- 04
Check and hand over
Review the agreed functions and documentation. Shipping, installation and commissioning follow the quoted scope.
Define the cost, delivery plan and scope together.
Projects differ in scope. Let’s define the requirement and set out the engineering, manufacturing and delivery conditions in the proposal.
Function, dimensions, target output, materials, automation and verification needs.
Design, approvals, component procurement, manufacturing and testing.
Documentation, shipping, installation, support and responsibilities.
A few useful answers.
Can an NDA be signed before technical files are shared?
Yes. An NDA can be agreed and signed before detailed technical information is exchanged. Begin with a non-confidential description so we can identify the scope.
Can we receive manufacturing drawings?
Manufacturing drawings can be provided under additional contractual conditions. The deliverables, revisions, permitted use and any rights are agreed in writing for the particular project.
What warranty and maintenance support is available?
QDM supplies equipment with a standard one-year machine warranty, starting from commissioning. Extended warranty and maintenance agreements can be arranged for the project. Coverage, duration, service responsibilities and commercial terms are agreed in the contract.
Tell us what you need to build.
A short description, sketch or process video is enough to start the conversation.
Plan a clearer project.
What to include in a custom machine brief
A practical checklist for specifying a special-purpose machine: process, product, output, space, interfaces and acceptance criteria.
